LUCIANA PIMENTEL
HIDDEN
Islamic Arts Festival at Sharjah Museum

Playing with the visitor point of view, the idea was that the message can only be discover from the right perspective.
From the sides they were layers, that represented the layers of thinking, the multinationality and multifaceted of the group members that got together to give a reinterpretation of the islamic art. But from the front it was the an islamic pattern.
A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS
Islamic Arts Festival at Sharjah Museum

Exploring the Islamic patterns we became amazed on how one base pattern can be converted into so many. It’s like the sun that has all it’s ways of being, but only shows one face for the amusement of creatures living in this planet.
The wall of the Thousand Splendid Suns will have different lightned islamic patterns that will come from that one base.
The different combinations will light the room in different ways, depending on the position of the people in front of it. Interaction and dynamism are key to this installation, since it is only because of people going around the room, that this amazing geometrical sunsets will be activated.

REC POP UP
Rec.0 Experimental Stores at Igualada

A 100 square meters suspended canopy on top of step-walled building that will host the POP UP DAY shop, the DJ and the bar, all made out of 3.000 beer crates using different assembly
systems that were invented and tested during the POP UP unit.

ORBIS
Llum Barcelona at Museo Picasso

Orbis is an installation where two lights dialog trying to praise the shadow, getting rid of it negative
connotation and exalting the beauty. It will be a dynamic conversation where will be able to listen a beam of light and a circumference with glow of it own, in a duel of passion competing between them for highlighting as protagonist.

PAPER GEOGRAPHIES
Temporary Exhibition at Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc

Pieces have been created from the use of toilet paper turned into pulp. Freed from its condition
of mute support and worked as a material to construct spaces and articulate narratives, the paper acquires surprising qualities, far removed from its connotation of current material, innocuous and of little value.
